Experience Pre-requisite:
Students must have a basic level of comfort and functional familiarity with firearms prior to attending this course. This includes prior experience safely handling, loading, and operating a firearm, as well as experience shooting at a range or training with a qualified instructor.
This class is not designed for complete beginners. In addition to standard instruction, the course includes a final stress-based qualification drill designed to simulate decision-making and performance under pressure. This drill requires students to safely and efficiently operate their firearm while managing time constraints and elevated stress.
Because of this, students should be able to:
- Safely handle and control their firearm at all times
- Load, unload, and manage their firearm without step-by-step instruction
- Maintain awareness and follow commands in a structured live-fire environment
If you have never fired a firearm, have no range experience, or have not received formal instruction, it is strongly recommended that you register for our CPL Academy This ensures you can safely participate and successfully meet the course and qualification standards.
Equipment Requirements:
- Note-Taking & Recording Equipment Students are encouraged to bring note-taking materials. Audio and video recording are permitted during most portions of the class; however, there are specific segments where recording will be prohibited. These restrictions will be clearly communicated during the course.
- Eye and Ear Protection
- Students must have the ability to carry a minimum of 30 rounds of ammunition on their person using at least two magazines during the live-fire portion of the course. If you are bringing your own firearm, ensure your magazine setup meets this requirement prior to arrival. If you do not have the required equipment, rental options are available—please arrange this in advance. Example: Two 15-round magazines or three 10-round magazines meet this requirement.
Please be aware that registration closes one week before the date of scheduled classes.
